Feeling bright in my new stuff Saturdays FOTD

So today I’m rocking my new top… I fell into a few shops when in London for the BirchBoxManithon yesterday and this gorgeous coral long sleeve number from Ted Baker was one of my purchases it’s matches my Models Own Polish perfectly! Obviously I had to combine it with one of my FAVS Laqa and Co Lip Lube in Bees Knees!

The Birchbox Manithon I get to be PAMPERED!!

So yesterday I jumped on the train and headed up to Soho Square in London for the chance to actually be pampered and get a manicure by someone else wooohoooo!!

Birchbox hosted a Manithon event in the gorgeous calm setting of Soho Square amongst the urban jungle of busy London streets and skyscrapers.

The sun was out and so were the gorgeous ladies in the masses, it was a lovely atmosphere and I really enjoyed meeting the lovely Birchbox team and chatting with them about the boxes, products, ideas and events!

I could feel good about it all too as it was all for a very good cause and one that most of us have had touch our lives.  Coppafeel, a charity set to make sure all breast cancers are found and diagnosed and the earliest stage. Personally my Nan is a survior she found her lump early, not everyone’s so lucky so like me I’d recommend you get a free monthly text from Coppafeel to have a feel of ya boobs just to remind they need to be checked, so there are no excuses! Christine was my nail tech she was so friendly and shaped my nails perfectly before really spoiling me with products and choices and I absolutely adore the Models Own colour we picked it’s called Beach Bag. (I loved it so much I went and brought a Ted Baker top to match it after! Hehe)

Then the team spoilt me some more with a goody bag and choice of lush testers to take away! All in all it was just a perfect day I got to meet Sarah Jane Crawford, I got to be inspired and share my ideas chatting with the Birchbox team and I had fun doing what I love beauty (and then shopping shhhh!)

Passion Never Fails, but that doesn’t mean there can’t be Tough Times

I just wanted to share this with you guys quickly. Totally random and not my usual type of blog, but after talking to various people this week it’s something I felt compelled to share.

I have been in the beauty industry eleven years and so far it’s been a rollercoaster.  I’ve have worked for high end counters, at some amazing London events, alongside internationally recognised make up artists, worked in Europe, worked with all ages from little princesses, beautiful brides, models, a total mixture of clients. I have opened my own beauty room, attended events, hosted events, been recognised for my work, written for Kent Women In Business Magazine (last 3 issues!!), and so much more!!! There is so much to love about it both what I have achieved so far and what I’m building upon right now!!!

It doesn’t mean this has been easy I share the fab stuff because it makes me happy but without telling a story and getting all down there are times its been so hard.  It has been so challenging, stuff I haven’t known, techy shit I had to learn, marketing that didn’t work, times I’ve seen competition doing something better than me or that I want to do, snow when I was opening doors to an event, times I’ve cried, times my boys have needed me more than work, times my eldest makes me so guilty for doing work, times I feel like I have no life, bad stuff that happens out of your control, those mornings I can’t get out of bed and oh so many times I was just going to quit and say F it all..But I never did and probably never will it’s my passion, my industry, my profession, my joy, my job!

SO YOU READING THIS my purpose of this is to help. To help anyone starting out, or anyone been trying to crack it for what seems like forever please whatever it is if it’s your passion don’t give up because when you see the true extent of what you can achieve its pretty amazing!! Bookmark this and when your day isn’t going to plan remember your passion will keep you going and if you know someone struggling share it with them.

That got a bit heavy didn’t it! I just felt really strongly that I could of done with hearing that when I doubted where I was heading, this week’s been amazing. I know I’ve been quiet with the blog but I have been in meetings with some omg awesome people, enjoying lunches and manicures (yeah check me getting pampered) and also planning some pretty amazeballs events I’m working on the blogs about those right now. Wednesday’s FOTD I’m running behind

Ok so a day behind still but here you go yesterday’s make up…

Took a pic of all the products and I’ll update with info later have a million and one jobs to get through today including blog catch ups, sorting traders for my upcoming Indulgence Night, planning the looks for the Autumn Winter Workshops and confirming dates with the venue, scheduling in tons of meetings for next week, stock orders (I’m not complaining my stock is beauty products for the beauty room – this is not hard work it’s a joy!) and getting Finley all ready for a sleepover and taking the baby for a hospital checkup! Phew!!! Best get cracking none of that seems a chore all blessings come from hard work xoxo

Tuesday’s FOTD, I didn’t like it

Think I didn’t post this one deliberately I don’t like it, it’s too much of a spring look on a grey and miserable day. And the eyeshadow is definitely not a me colour it looks a lot brighter in the palette and it has primer underneath!!

Monday Manicure & My New Birchbox Manithon Tee

Morning! My manicure today was done the other day as Birchbox sent me this fab Models Own Hyper Gel Polish and I just couldn’t wait to try it, they also sent me a fab Birchbox Manithon Tee which I can’t wait to wear to the event in London this Friday.

The Models Own Polish in Turquoise Gloss glides on beautifully with a strong colour straight away and no bubbling, it’s nice to apply and I love the finished result.
I combined it with The Nails Inc Kensington Passage a gorgeous bright coral to make it really pop, I recieved that from Grazia Daily as part of my Monday Manicure prize.
I also reverse painted the underside of my tips to make my nails really eye catching.

Now more about Friday…
I will be getting a manicure from someone else wooohoooo! It’s a rarity I know but it’s also for an amazing cause.

Birchbox are hosting a Manithon in association with Models Own, in London Soho Square. They have the gorgeous Sarah Jane Crawford who I love listening to on 1xtra and is now the face of the xtra factor, plus she retweeted my bright red lips last week, I’m actually a bit excited!  I met her before at a boxing fight but I’m feeling confident enough to actually say hello and introduce myself if I meet her this time haha! Pretty nails crossed!

Saturday FOTD & Planning Workshops in the sunshine

Ok so as I type this I’m cold and about to reach for a hoody, but it has been sunny today and I have been using the time wisely to sit and prep a fab Autumn Winter Make Up Workshop for Sweet Cheeks Beauty. I love the trends that are being seen on the catwalks and can’t wait to filter them through to help people recreate them into everyday looks and evening glam.

I also got to pamper a princesses nails ready to sparkle on her holiday, I love making little girls feel special.

Today my face of the day inspiration  comes from one of my besties, Charlie. I got to catch up with her today and do her make up a gorgeous smoky blue, Charlie has darker features than me and mesmerising brown eyes, she left looking WOW! Here’s my recreation of the look on me….
