Morning! My manicure today was done the other day as Birchbox sent me this fab Models Own Hyper Gel Polish and I just couldn’t wait to try it, they also sent me a fab Birchbox Manithon Tee which I can’t wait to wear to the event in London this Friday.
The Models Own Polish in Turquoise Gloss glides on beautifully with a strong colour straight away and no bubbling, it’s nice to apply and I love the finished result.
I combined it with The Nails Inc Kensington Passage a gorgeous bright coral to make it really pop, I recieved that from Grazia Daily as part of my Monday Manicure prize.
I also reverse painted the underside of my tips to make my nails really eye catching.
Now more about Friday…
I will be getting a manicure from someone else wooohoooo! It’s a rarity I know but it’s also for an amazing cause.
Birchbox are hosting a Manithon in association with Models Own, in London Soho Square. They have the gorgeous Sarah Jane Crawford who I love listening to on 1xtra and is now the face of the xtra factor, plus she retweeted my bright red lips last week, I’m actually a bit excited! I met her before at a boxing fight but I’m feeling confident enough to actually say hello and introduce myself if I meet her this time haha! Pretty nails crossed!
Coppafeel the breast cancer awareness charity will be receiving 100% of the proceeds from all the appointments and all the t-shirts sold! Now if that doesn’t give you reason to take time out of your day Friday I don’t know what will book your appointment here, but if you can’t make it order a fab tee like mine designed by renowned fashion illustrator Sally Faye Cotterell it’s limited edition too amd only £12 buy yours now
Spending the day with my man so a simple subtle grey blend over my eyes with Eyeliner and lots of lovely baby pink lipstick for a light glossy touch to a sunny Sunday.
Moisturiser Embryolisse, this moisturiser does absolutely wonders for my skin, I recieved it in my June Brazil Birchbox, and think it’s going to be a must purchase, not many moisturisers make this much difference to my skin and I think it’s extremely affordable too.
Primer MAC Prep & Prime I’ve been going mad for this primer and it’s creamy texture all week! I got this sample from following a link on MACs Facebook page.
Eyeshadow Primer Absolute New York really rating this primer on its own and as a base so far I think it’s the least oily and noticeable when I have it on. I recieved this in my June GlossyBox
Foundation Dior Forever 020 this sample is seeming to last a long time proof that with the right prep under your make up only a very little is needed.
Blusher a combination of a sample size blush InStain in which has a really bold colour with a lighter Arbonne blush circling the apples just to soften the look
Bronzer Arbonne just a little to add slight definition
Eyeshadows from a Dior grey and black 5 colour palette this is old stock but I find most shades are repeated through various palettes
Eyeliner Eyeko London this done the first eye perfectly but was dry and really dragged on the second one thing I’ve noted with this tip is it’s hard to see what’s about to or not about to come out.
Mascara curled lashes and Dior Extase for a more dramatic lash
Lipstick Thomas Sabo this is so soft light and pretty, it was a present from Christie we both love everything Thomas Sabo, my skull necklace in all my pics is by them and I also have a charm bracelet and perfumes I want so much in that shop I considered getting a job there as well as running all my stuff!! The link above is for the beauty page but it doesn’t look like they have it, you can always call the Bluewater store as I write this I know they have it in stock I saw it in their the other day 😉
Hair just to add a slight volume I just popped some sleep in rollers in anyhow just to add a bit of oomph
Less products today just for an easy yet pretty day make up. Especially as I dont actually know what we are doing yet 😉
Feeling Girly and wanting my nails to be pink! I felt inspired to create something Barbie for this week’s manicure Monday what do you think?
I’m trying to have new days out to different places that aren’t packed and don’t cost the earth. It’s the summer holidays we need a balance and so my mum made up a hugely delicious picnic and off we went to Dungeness for the day just to see what we could find down there and as somewhere new to investigate. The sun was shining the car was packed and after a 50 minute journey we arrived.
We began buy heading straight to the lighthouse on the way there are lots of lovely little shack studios of art and photography. Finley was amazed by this masterpiece of leftover beach items outside a beautiful art shop, it must have took some years to build up.
My grandad always inspired us to at least try and attempt those funny location photographs, although trying to instruct Finley on hold to hold a lighthouse was quite impossible 🙂
We paid the £9.50 entry for 2 adults and a child and proceeded to climb the169 steps to the top of the lighthouse. On the way up there was loads of facts about the lighthouse and maps of hundreds of shipwrecks that ha happened along the coastline, there was a keepers book and all the information on how they recorded the seas, weather and such. As geeky as it sounds that kinda stuff fascinates me and I like to tell Finley about where we are, I like that everyday is a new opportunity to teach him new stuff.
Once at the top the light itself was huge and the views across some of the coastline were just beautiful, plus looking out across the sea at all the boats and the little hits scattered closely along the shoreline, plus the smiles captured of me mum and Finley.
After a steep decent down the 169 steps we went back to the car got our picnic and walked to the pebbled beach, it was a sunny and glorious day perfect for stone throwing in the water, a yummy picnic and some special time just to take time out with 2 very special people who make me smile lots. We stayed on the beach all afternoon Finley paddled in the water throwing stones, watched some rather unsuccessful fishermen, went for a walk along the beach with nanny and collected lots of bits he wants to stock in his summer journal 🙂
Sometimes it’s not about the whole picture this was one when me and my lil dude were messing around on a day out. It may not have captured us completely but the smile in his eyes and the laughter in my smile makes me smile every time I look at it. It makes me feel complete.
Plus the picnic blanket we are laying on is one my very talented mummy made. Kaz kreationz.
I’ll write a whole post about this day out with my Mum & Finley in Dungeness but for now just wanted to share a smile.
Have a fabulous weekend xoxo
